Video Roadmap
Feeling lost with your marketing strategy? Let us draw the map.
The Blue Barn Video Roadmap is a paid strategy engagement — a working session with co-founders Stephen Alberts and Carlos Foster, built from years of producing video for businesses and applied to yours.

Why the Roadmap Exists
Hope is not a strategy.
That's how most video gets made. You spend the budget, hire the team, shoot the project, wait for the cuts, hope they land. You ship them, then hope they perform. Maybe they do. Maybe they don't — and you find out long after the budget is gone.
Years of producing video for businesses have taught us a hard truth: how a video performs is decided long beforeanyone shoots a frame. It's decided in the strategic choices nobody walked you through. The Roadmap is the strategy work we put on paper before the spend. So you make the call from a position of clarity, not from hoping for the best.
Audience
The Roadmap is a strategic option, not a universal gate.
For you if
- ✓You're investing meaningful budget in video and want to make sure it's the right kind of video.
- ✓You're between vendors, between strategies, or between commitments and need a defensible plan before you commit.
- ✓Your last project produced assets you couldn't use, and you want to figure out why before booking the next one.
- ✓You have multiple stakeholders to align before production, and you need a document they can read and respond to.
Not for you if
- —You already know exactly what you want — one brand film, one event coverage day, one specific spot — and just need it produced well.
- —Your budget is under $5,000 and already earmarked for a specific deliverable.
- —You need production to start in under two weeks.
- —You're shopping for the lowest bid. Roadmap clients are looking for the right plan, not the cheapest plan.

What's Inside
The Roadmap, in four phases.
Diagnosis
We name the actual situation. What's working, what's not, and why your current approach is or isn't producing the outcomes you want. Specific to your business, written in language you recognize. No generic frameworks.
Architecture
We design the production to match the goal it's meant to serve. What gets made, why, in what order, and what's intentionally left out. The honest split between professionally produced work and what your team should self-produce alongside it.
Production calendar & channel map
Specific assets sequenced across the engagement window. Each finished asset mapped to the channels it lives on and the funnel job it does there — paid social, sales enablement, the marketing site, email retargeting.
Engagement recommendation
A direct recommendation on the engagement tier and mode — project-based or long-term partnership — with rationale grounded in the discovery conversation. Plus a list of open questions and unresolved items to address before production kicks off.
Formats
Two formats. The right one depends on the engagement.
Standard
Single production block
The right tier when you have one focused deliverable in mind — a brand film, a customer story series, a commercial campaign — and want to make sure the production design serves the goal before the budget is committed.
- • 4-month engagement window
- • One production block, sequenced across pre, shoot, and post
- • Channel and funnel placement for every finished asset
Credits 100% toward production booked within 180 days.
Extended
Annual content engine
The right tier when you're building a multi-quarter content engine across hero films, recurring assets, and self-produced support content. Designed for companies treating video as ongoing infrastructure.
- • 12-month engagement window
- • Multiple production blocks, sequenced quarterly
- • Channel and funnel placement across the full content library
- • Quarterly check-ins to update the plan against market response
Credits 100% toward production booked within 180 days.

The Promise
The strategy is yours to keep.
You can execute this Roadmap with Blue Barn, with another production partner, or as a hybrid. If you build the production with us, the Roadmap fee credits 100% toward production within 180 days. If you build it elsewhere, the Roadmap stands as a defensible content strategy regardless.
Roadmap FAQs
Do I have to buy a Roadmap before working with Blue Barn?▾
No. If you already know exactly what you want — a single brand film, an event shoot, a corporate video — you can book production directly. The Roadmap is a strategic option for buyers who want clarity before committing the budget. It's a side door, not a gate.
What if I do the Roadmap and decide to build the production with another partner?▾
The Roadmap is yours to keep. It is written so it stands as a defensible content strategy regardless of who produces the work. If you choose another vendor, the $1,500 Roadmap fee is non-refundable but the document is still yours.
How does the 100% credit work?▾
If you book a production engagement with Blue Barn within 180 days of receiving your Roadmap, the $1,500 (Standard) or $2,500 (Extended) Roadmap fee credits in full toward that production. The credit applies to one production engagement and does not stack across multiple bookings.
What is the difference between Standard and Extended?▾
Standard ($1,500) covers a single production block — the right tier when you have one focused deliverable in mind and want to make sure the production design matches the goal. Extended ($2,500) covers an annual content cadence — the right tier when you are planning a multi-quarter content engine across hero films, recurring assets, and self-produced support content.
How long does it take to receive the Roadmap?▾
Two to three weeks from the strategy call. The first week is discovery and research. The second is drafting. The third is your review and our revisions. The Roadmap is delivered as a written document plus a one-hour walkthrough call.
